1. Who we are

Goldsmith Alliance is a UK membership network for independent accountancy practices, and part of the Legal and Professional Services group.

Goldsmith Alliance is run under the CharterGroup name. Your personal information is controlled by CharterGroup Alliance Ltd (“we”, “us”), which runs Goldsmith Alliance’s marketing and membership services. CharterGroup Alliance Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 12303050, with its registered office at 2nd Floor, 4 Beaconsfield Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3RD.

We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZB375595.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your information, email us at admin@goldsmithalliance.co.uk or write to us at the address above.

This policy covers goldsmithalliance.co.uk, our membership ROI calculator, and the ways we contact and work with accountancy firms.

2. What information we collect

When you contact us. If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the subject of your message and anything you tell us in it.

When you use the ROI calculator. To show and email your results, we collect your practice name and email address, the services you tell us you use, your estimated client introductions and the results the calculator produces. We also record that you agreed to our privacy terms, and when.

When you book a call. If you book a call with us through Microsoft Bookings, we collect the details you enter there, such as your name, email address, practice name and the time you choose.

When we contact you about membership. We may collect business contact details for people at accountancy practices from public sources, such as LinkedIn, practice websites, Companies House and professional directories. This usually means your name, job title, practice name, business email address and business phone number.

When you become a member. We hold the information needed to run your membership, such as contact details for your practice’s key people, your membership and billing details, and records of the introductions you make to our partners.

When you visit our website. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t ask for special category information (such as health details), and please don’t include it in messages to us.

4. Marketing

We may send information about Goldsmith Alliance membership, events and partner offers to people at accountancy practices, by email, LinkedIn or post.

  • Limited companies and LLPs: we may email your business address without your prior consent, as the law allows for corporate businesses.
  • Sole practitioners and non-limited partnerships: the law treats you like an individual, so we only email you about membership if you have agreed to it, or if you have enquired about membership with us and didn’t opt out.

Every marketing email tells you who it’s from and includes an easy way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by emailing admin@goldsmithalliance.co.uk. If you opt out, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we don’t contact you again by mistake.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with partners for their own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run our website and business. They only use your information on our instructions:

  • With a partner you ask to be introduced to. We only pass on your details, or your client’s, with your agreement.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, or if our business is sold or restructured.
